Chainsaw Garden

Chainsaw - Garden Tools

If you do a significant amount of gardening involving heavy sawing, wood carving, firewood chopping and so on then it may be worth considering investing in a chainsaw . Garden power tools can make a great differenc and rtasks can be done far more quickly.

Of course there is more than one type of garden chainsaw and you will need to do your research to make sure that you get the right one.

For example an electric garden chainsaw is light, easy to start up and relatively quiet ( for an electric saw). It can be used indoors, say for wood carving.

On the other hand a petrol garden chainsaw can used anywhere and is generally faster and more powerful.

A petrol garden chainsaw is completely portable and can be operated anywhere. If you are tackling some of the heavier jobs then they will be more suited to your workload. They can also be used in any conditions.

Whether electric or petrol a chainsaw is full of moving parts and will therefore require regular maintenance to keeep it in good order. For example the chain needs to be adjusted periodically and proper lubrication is essential. The saw teeth will need sharpening after a certain amount of use.

As useful as they are a chainsaw can be a very dangerous object if not handled properly. Before you use one you need to be shown exactly how to use it. You need to be familiar with how it works and what the potential hazards are.

Never operate a chainsaw without wearing appropriate protective clothing including googles and a hard hat. Gloves should also be worn.
